Hello everybody,
I was initially going to send this email to just my clients living in the north/northwest part of Austin in light of last week’s hail storm. Taking heed of a great suggestion from Beth my office manager (many of you know her), I’m sending this to everyone since you may know someone who does live north/northwest even if you don’t.
As we all know there was a pretty serious hail storm last week. With that comes potential house/car damage. If you had hail in your area here are the steps you should take:
· Call a roofer you know, trust or have been referred to - I know a great one if you need a referral. There are going to be a lot of “roofers” out to get business right now. A good one would come out to inspect your roof, tell you if there is enough damage to be concerned, whether or not your insurance company is likely to cover a claim and provide you an estimate.
· Once you have that info, call your insurance co to make a claim and they will send out an adjuster. If you have an estimate already, ask them if they’d like you to send it to them in advance of the adjuster coming out.
· Once the adjuster comes out, make sure to give him/her the estimate and contact info of the roofer you’ve already had out. They may need to talk to each other about certain parts of the damage/estimate.
· Within a week or so you should receive contact about how much you are going to be sent after your deductible, which you would use to have the roofer replace your roof with. There is a chance that you may have to come out of pocket but it would still be a lot cheaper than if you replaced it without a claim - and you’re set with a new roof for a while! Well worth it!
I’m happy to guide you through some of this so please don’t hesitate to call. Also, I’ve referred Bill with Harbor Roofing for years and he did my roof a year or so ago when we had the bad hail storm in the central area. Please contact him; he will be very honest with you. Best of luck, look forward to talking soon.
